Family buries teenage girl killed by Minister’s convoy

The 8-year old child, Anthonia Beckley Tigu, who was knocked down by the convoy of the minister of basic education has been buried at Mabunji, Kumba. 
                The Technical Adviser No. 2 at the MINEDUB, Akemda Eric Achankeng, comforted the family on behalf of the minister, who was unavoidably absent. Akemda handed a package to the mother of the child. But the contents of the package were not disclosed to the public.
                The burial was also attended by Meme SDO, and a cross section of CPDM militants in the division. 

                Speaking at the burial, Hon. Atinda Martin of Meme west constituency debunked rumours which had been circulating on the social media about the minister YoussoufHadidja haven abandoned the family on their own and switched off her phone.  He revealed that since the child was knocked down while returning from fetching water he and other CPDM officials will lobby for the minister to see to it that pipe borne water is provided to the community of Mabunji.
                The mother of the deceased, EverlynTigu and other family heads expressed their gratitude to the government for coming to their aide in these hard times by helping them burry their child. 
                The burial took place today June 16 at Mabunji and was attended by inspectors of basic education in the entire division alongside the divisional delegate of basic education for Meme.
