Adrien Béchonnet has been named Managing Director of,
petroleum company Total Cameroon.
He
takes over from Imrane Barry who stepped down after occupying the position for
more than four years.
Adrien
Béchonnet formerly served as Managing Director of the Togolese branch of Total
Group.
Total
Cameroon is the leading retailer of petroleum products and related services in
the country.
In
2015, the company owned 170 fuel stations across the country.
In
2012, the hydrocarbon products distribution company saw its market share drop
by 2.5%.
The
company said then that “our market shared moved from 5 to about 20 % in the
past years”.
The
drop was caused by competition from other companies involved in oil business.
To
fight this competition, “we decided to put in place a new policy of opening new
stations,” management revealed then.
