Chantal Biya recieves New Year wishes

The First Lady Madam Chantal BIYA received 2016 New Year wishes from wives of the Diplomatic and National dignitaries at the East Wing of Unity Palace on Friday 8 January 2016
     The colourful ceremony started at mid day when the wives of Diplomats posted to Yaounde and female members of the Diplomatic corps, led by Mrs. KAYA, wife of Russian Ambassador who is the vice dean, filed into the Unity Palace to wish a happy New Year to Madam Chantal BIYA.

    Various groups of women from different walks of life took turns to greet the First Lady, including the wives of Senators, Parliamentarians, Ministers, female mayors, members of GFAC and CERAC, the spouses of the senior staff of the Presidency of the Republic, etc. Each group leader had a bouquet of flowers for the First Lady.
    The ceremony was punctuated with music and dancing, while the invitees were served lots of food and drinks to spice up the festive mood. In her usual show of kindness and the spirit of sharing, the women were showered with gifts at the end of the occasion.
