Chaired by Justice Menyoli Charles-President of the Fako High Court and Mrs. Chibili Maureen of the State Council, the over five hour event at the Buea Court of Appeal witnessed the presence of parents and family members of the future advocates.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Barrister Sama Francis- president of the Cameroon Bar Council-called on the pupil advocates to study the law in Cameroon diligently and devotedly during the three years that they will spend as interns before becoming fully- fledged lawyers. Barrister Sama Francis, while congratulating the successful candidates, told them: “It takes time to grow, but it takes more time to become a senior advocate”.

In the presence of representatives from the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association, with its president, Barrister Dr. Emmanuel Tang and Barrister Charles Njualem- representative of the Bar president in Fako, the president of Fako Lawyers association FAKLA, Barr. Ajong Stanislas, and members of the judiciary in Fako, Barrister Sama Francis announced government’s quest to upgrade legal education in Cameroon. To this effect, all stakeholders and officials of the legal department present and represented were asked to prepare a draft document that will serve as guide to the creation of the Cameroon Law School, which the minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso has demanded.
Drawing from section 9, of law No. 90/9/059 of 19th December, 1990, persons aged 21 minimum sitting in as candidates for advocate-in-training should devote themselves in rendering services in chambers, reason why, the 151 advocates, excluding the 116th  applicant who was absent, took the oath on January 9, 2015.  “I do swear as an advocate-in-training to perform my duties as council for the defense or as legal adviser in total independence and in Unity, on consciousness, brevity, humility and in accordance with the ethics of my profession; in due respect of the court and tribunal as the law of the Republic.”
Speaking to The Median Newspaper, some of the new advocates confessed it has really not been stressful waiting for over four months to be sworn-in as advocates-in-learning. This is the idea of Arrey Remy, who told The Median that, taking the examination since last February 22, 2014 and succeeding through the orals in August of the sane year, only meant their swearing-in ceremony was the most awaited. To Njualem Julius-one of the new advocates, the three years of training is a mere formality which he said, they should all gladly work with passion given that, they were among the best candidates who took the Bar examination.
