Fecaclub UNESCO march for World peace
The two
kilometers walk took members of the UNESCO club from the Prime Minister’s
Office Roundabout to the Reunification monument.

Over 500
pupils and students participated in a march for peace Cameroon on Sunday
September 2017.
Organised by the federation of
UNESCO clubs in Cameroon, Fecaclub Unesco, the march took participants, mostly
students from the prime minister’s office roundabout to the reunification
monument.
Carrying placards with messages
calling for peace in Cameroon, the marchers were celebratory the 2017 edition
of the International Day for peace in the world.
The theme for the celebration
was “our cultural diversity, bedrock of a durable peace.
Other messages heralded during
the celebration called for Cameroonians to stay together in peace and to ensure
the respect for the dignity and security of one another.
Apart from the peace walk, the
celebration also witnessed sports activities, speeches and cultural display at
the esplanade of the Reunification monument.
Speaking on the occasion, the
president of the Unesco club in Cameroon, Elat Sylvere called on members to
come together for peace and to respect for the dignity and security of another.
The ceremony ended with the
award of prizes to students who distinguished themselves in competitions in
painting poetry and singing.
It should be noted that the 2017
International Day for peace was celebrated in the context of the breakdown of
peace in the two Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
