CPDM Reorganization

Musonge hijacks events in Fako
- Protesting militants reject consensus lists in Buea, Limbe, Muyuka

Militants of the Kako I Section of the CPDM are now in fragments following a controversial decision by Senator Peter Mafany Musonge to ensure that consensus lists with some particular persons at the head are established before elections into the basic organs of the party slated for anytime soon.
The raging controversy came to the limelight on Thursday September 24 during a meeting that held at the Limbe council hall. According to Honourable Emilia Monjowa Lifaka who chaired the meeting on behalf of Senator Peter Mafany Musonge, the come together was a “family meeting“ whose main objective was to reconcile the militants, cleanse the Fako CPDM house and prepare the way for a smooth and hitch-free reorganization exercise. Lifaka pointed out that she had been sent by Senator Peter Mafany Musonge to ensure that other militants, apart from elected officials, are given the opportunity to also hold positions in the party, instead of the same people accumulating positions.
The Median has it on good authority that the Limbe meeting came a few days after Senator Peter Mafany Musonge summoned all Fako CPDM elite “for an enlarged meeting” at his residence in Yaounde. During that meeting, Mola Musonge is said to have suggested that elected officials such as mayors, MPs and senators should not run for the office of Section Presidents this, so that other militants can be given a chance.
The responsibility of implementing the “order from Yaounde” was thus placed on the shoulders of Honourable Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, Vice President of the National Assembly and Andrew Motanga Monjimba, Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council and outgoing president of the now split Fako I section.

However, things took a different twist when the messengers from Yaounde, joined by Andrew Motanga and others, descended to the field to handpick candidates to form what they termed consensus lists.
Several militants who spoke to this reporter cried foul that the party had been hijacked by a few individuals for their selfish, self-seeking  and anti-party motives.
Militants said the call for “free choice” enshrined in the circular signed on 27 July 2015 by President Paul Biya has been frontally contradicted by the “hijackers”. They threatened that should the hijackers continue their anti-party operation to the end, their loyalty to the party shall considerably wane.
Prior to the Limbe City council hall meeting, another caucus meeting to establish consensus lists for the three sections held behind closed doors in the premises of the Limbe City Council.
Given the fire and brimstone that characterized the meeting, Honourable Lifaka and Andrew Motanga cut it short to join waiting militants at the council hall at Down Beach.
After working hard to cajole the raging militants that it was important for consensus lists to be established, the duo and their aids went back to the city council hall to continue working on the consensus lists ordered by Musonge.
The meeting which held up to 3 a.m. on Friday morning is said to have established complete lists for the three sections and will simply be presented to militants for adoption.
Following the Musonge injunction, all elected officials, notably mayors and senators were left out. Some of the handpicked CPDM section presidents include Ngalle Ngomba Eric for Limbe IB and Sondi Quan for Limbe IC.
Surprisingly though, the erstwhile CPDM Fako I Section President, Andrew Motanga Monjimba was allowed to stand as Section President for Limbe IA to the chagrin of many militants who have questioned why he should accumulate the position of Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council and Section President of Limbe IA.
Supporters of Motanga have however been quick to point out that he is an appointed official and not elected. The controversy has brought widespread disgruntlement within the ranks of the CPDM leaving many to speculate that there could be unhealthy surprises during the reorganization proper.
We learnt that similar consensus lists have also been established in Buea , Mukyuka and Tiko where the Musonge engineered team has also been.
In Buea, Namange Mafany is said to be Musonge’s favourite for section president. If that happens then the  hopes of Mayor Ekema Patrick Esunge becoming Section President would have been dashed.
Observers have been quick to point out that another episode in the epic battle between outgoing section president Senator Mbella Moki Charles and Mayor Ekema Patrick Esunge may never take place, as both Senator Mbella and Mayor Ekema have been barred from competing by the very unpopular Musonge decision.
Meanwhile, the acrimony between Muyuka mayor Nkeng Michael and section President Lazare Landjinou may also be thrashed.

SDF Jubilates
Following the pandemonium that now reigns within the ranks of the CPDM in Limbe, the SDF Limbe I electoral district chairman, Ndenge Godden Zama has jubilated that these are end time signals for the CPDM in Limbe I.     Zama pointed out that the trademark division and confusion in the CPDM is clear proof that the party has never won any elections in Limbe. Zama concluded by saying he will continue to galvanize his  militants to teach the CPDM a bitter lesson in the next elections in 2018.
