Njalla Quan FC relegated
After spending just three years in Cameroon top flight football, Njalla Quan Sports Academy, NQSA has finally dropped to League Two. Promoted to MTN Elite 1 in 2012, and after just three straight seasons in the League One, NQSA is returning to the League Two Championship. The team from Victoria needed to defeat UMS of Loum on Wednesday to keep her survival dreams alive while heading into the season’s final day, but it wasn’t to be, as visiting USM of Loum defeated NQSA 3-1. Combined with Canon’s win, this mathematically eliminated the Victoria side and relegated them to the League Two championship for the 2015/16 season.
It was a season that started badly for NQSA, with the club in the hands of the son of the founder, Junior Njalla Quan after the demise of his father, Henry Njalla Quan, the club has been limping since the dead of the founder. They have been complains of recruitment of inexperience players, poor condition of players among others that have plaque the team so far.
These have so far been reflected in the results of the club.
NQSA since the beginning of the season has been struggling at the bottom of the table. Out of 33 games played so far, they have won just eight, lost 18 and have recorded 7draws. They have also scored 18 goals, conceded 36 goals and have a goal difference of -18 goals. They have scored 10 of the 18 goals at home and eight goals while playing away.
These gives the club an average of 0.52 goals scored per match against an average of 1.15 goals conceded in a single game. This situation certainly shows why the Limbe side was relegated.
The club survived relegation last year thanks to an advantage of a goal difference of plus one goal over Renaissance of Ngoumou that has negative 1 goal. This year, the same fate failed to smile on them as they were sent out of League to by another relegation battling side, USM of Loum after they were beaten by the visitors at the Limbe Centenary Stadium, 2-3.
The fate of NQSA and Tonnerre Kalara Club of Yaounde are already known as they now await one club to join them in League Two next season.
In League Two, Ngoketoundjia FC promoted in 2014 was also relegated into the amateur league. After enjoying just two seasons in League Two, the Ndop side failed to maintain her stay in the country’s second top level football league.
Other clubs to follow Ngoketoundjia FC to the inferior league are AS Belabo and Scorpion of Be that was relegated last year from League 1.
