Meme administration sets confusion in
Kombone town
-Governor demands explanations, as new SDO
plays the Ostrich
By Doh Bertrand Nua in Kumba
Kombone Town, a village located in Mbonge
Sub-Division of Meme Division, Southwest region has been in a state of
confusion, tension and separation following a chieftaincy crisis that has
rocked the village for the past two years. The village has now split into two
camps due to a power tussle between a certain Esue Kingsley Njaroni and Sakwe
Daniel Dosa both legitimacy as the rightful chief.
The
Median has learnt that the fight which has dragged on since the death of the
late Chief Sakwe Daniel in 2014 between the set Esue Kingsley Njaroni and Sakwe
Daniel Dosa as to who will finally emerge as chief has been backed and
sponsored by two politicians fighting on the background all in a bit to see one
of their candidate win.
According
to sources Esue Kingsley is backed and sponsored by a powerful elite of Mbonge
whose name we are withholding, while the other contestant is sponsored by a
certain personality who is also a regime bigwig and an elite whom many belief
has frustrated almost all the Bakundu youths.
With both personalities been regime bigwigs
and having cash to throw around, Meme administration has equally help in
splitting the village by dancing the Bafia dance and passing several
prefectoral orders acknowledging the legitimacy of the various candidates while
rejecting the other in several different instances all simply because money
must have exchanged hands.
History of administrative fowl play in the
Chieftaincy Crisis
Following
some of the administrative documents that this reporter happened to have
stumbled on, several Prefectoral orders have been signed designating either of
the candidates with the same high office coming back to repeal the same orders
all in a bid to take advantage of the situation and feed fat.
Going
by the Prefectoral order No 312/2014 bearing the homologation designating Mr.
Esue Kingsley as 3rd Class Chief of Kombone Town Village in Mbonge
Sub-Division, ordered considering the minutes of consultative talks held with
kingmakers of the village on April 30th 2014 by the Divisional Officer,
considering the documents submitted by Mr. Esue Kingsley and transmitted in a
letter of 5th May 2014, it gave Esue Kingsley the right to become 3rd class
chief replacing late chief Sakwe Daniel.
In
order to enforce the above order, on January 8, 2016 there was another document
titled attestation of effective presence signed by the Second Assistant Senior
Divisional Officer, Nelson YongkumaGamsi, confirming that Chief Esue Kingsley
is effectively working since 17th of July 2014.
While
there was relative calm in the air, the “long throat Meme administrators”
passed another prefectoral order creating panic and confusion in the village by
repealing the order that recognized Esue Kingsley as the chief of the village.
This was contained in “Prefectoral order No 212/2014 of 17th July 2014 bearing
on the homologation of Esue Kingsley as 3rd class chief”. After citing several
decrees, the order stated that “considering talks done by Mbonge DO on May 25th
2014 and the long lasting absence of Esue Kingsley in Kombone Town village
hereby ordered, that in accordance with article 16(2) of decree No 77/245 of
July 1977, the prefectoral order that homologated and designated Esue Kingsley
was repealed and charged the DO to organize four fresh consultative talks and
the implementation of the order done on 23rd of November 2016.
After
set wrangling the SDO, KoulboutAman David still went ahead to sign another
order on the eve of his handing over ceremony on March 22nd acknowledging Sakwe
Daniel Dosa as chief of Kombone Town village.
Enter SW Governor
Following
the silence of the new Meme SDO, Chamberlin Ntou’ouNdong weeks after his
installation on the set crisis, many have revealed he is playing the ostrich.
This silence coupled with the cacophony, complexity and intertwined nature of
the crisis has brought in the intervention of the Governor to investigate on
the issue. The no nonsense OkaliaBilai has signed an oredr address to the
former SDO, KoulboutAman David with subject petitioning prefectoral order No
609/2016 repealing prefectoral order No 312/2014 homologating Esue Kingsley as
chief of Kombone Town village. It reads “why forwarding to you here attacked the
above complain dated 23rd of November address to me from Esue Kingsley, I have
the honour to request you to forward to me the reason that let to the repealing
of prefectoral order No 312/2014 appointing Esue Kingsley as Chief” read the
order. It added the SDO is ordered to halt any fresh consultative talks in the
village pending resolutions of the matter. This twist in the crisis has left
the two contestants all wagging their thongs with Esue Kingsley saying,
following the governor’s order he remains the chief while SakweDosa backed the
order of the former SDO on the eve is handing over believes he is the chief.
