Two Cameroonians Nominated For Foe Award

Two Indomitable Lion’s player, Benjamin
Moukandjo and Karl TokoEkambi have been nominated for the 2017 edition of the
Marc Vivian Foe’s Award.
According
to the list that was published last April 10, the two Cameroonians are among
the 13 finalists selected.
Benjamin
Moukandjo, captain of the Indomitable Lions looks set to grab the trophy given
his enormous contributions in his club. His contributions, both in terms of the
impact in the game, construction, passes and goals make him a serious contender
for this trophy.
Like
Moukandjo, Cameroonian striker Karl TokoEkambi, African champion is also very
fit given his impact this season. Ivorian born Niçois Jean-Michaël Seri and
YounèsBelhanda, strangers in the group are part of the prestigious list.
The final winner to succeed SofaneBoufal
will be selected in the month of May and will be separated by a jury of about
100 journalists.
The
award is handled by RFI and France 24. The award seeks to reward the best
African player playing in French League 1 for the 2016-2017 season.
Since
the inception of the award in 2009, no Cameroonian has finished on the top
position. Nicolas Nkoulou came second in 2012 and 2013 while Henri Bedimo
finished third in 2014.
