Why the fuss over Kupe Muanenguba?
Some evil-doers have lost sleep as the current is flowing between Elung Paul and Ngole Philip |
The social media has once again been flooded with lies
and half truths about political activities in Kupe Muanenguba division. There
seem to be a sort of smear campaign against all efforts made by some concerned
sons and daughters of this division to improve the situation on the ground. The
question is, why all the fuss? A most recent case circulating on social media
since this weekend purports that Minister ELUNG Paul and the CPDM campaign team
heading to Bangem last Saturday 29 September was attacked and prevented from
getting to Bangem.
This
perfidious claim even holds that the Minister’s convoy was ambushed and
attacked, that members of his delegation suffered from wounds resulting from
gunshots and that some soldiers lost their lives in the attack. In fact, some
versions even insist the meeting in Bangem flopped. Lies!
Both meetings of Bangem and Tombel were a huge success,
current security challenges notwithstanding. The fact of the matter is that
some manipulated persons fell a tree across the road some 16km to Bangem. The
campaign team was informed well ahead of time by some concerned youths. The
military was helpful in dislodging the obstacle and enabling fluidity of
movement. Note that the campaign team was never attacked not even with a
pebble; neither in Bangem nor in Tombel next day Sunday 30th. The delegation to
Bangem never came into contact with the said fighters, no gun exchange and no
incident worthy of note came up. Both meetings were very successful as some
militants and well wishers of the CPDM party came out to show their unrelenting
support for President Paul Biya.
It is
however, appalling that some feeble-minded persons toy with the current
difficulties our people are going through and continue to sow seeds of discord
and hatred among kindred. It was obvious that even within the supposed team,
some carried out the treachery with effrontery.
It is no
use putting our younger ones at risk all the time by luring them to face the
soldiers and be killed. There is a sudden interest to see chaos in our division
and we all owe it to posterity to keep our land safe from bloodshed.
Destiny and God’s providence has a divine way of visiting
and rewarding the deserving. Even You! Nothing else matters, not even malicious
plots against Elung Paul, Ngole Philip and the other devoted sons and daughters
who made it to the campaigns. The sacrifice remains selfless!
