Some over 450 youth drawn from the Centre region and beyond have benefitted from a career building and youth entrepreneurship training workshop to help build their capacities in Agric-businesses, secrets to attain financial freedom and investment opportunities that come with agriculture.
The one-day workshop organised by ‘Teks Global and Value Chain Services Ltd’, an agriculture investment platform that basically does business on agriculture brought together a cream of agriculture technicians, financial experts and motivational speakers to drill the youth on how to embrace agriculture and attain their goals in less than no time. The workshop held at the Djeuga Palce Hotel Saturday 29 February 2020.
Speaking to reporters on the side line of the workshop, Teke Samuel, Chief executive Officer (CEO) of Teks Gloobal, disclosed that the seminar was to bring youth together and explain to them the possibility of making fortunes out of agriculture.
“We want to teach the people how to do agriculture in the 21st century, how to turn their agriculture activities into agric-business. This will therefore enable the youth to realise that agriculture is no longer the thing of the old as they would think and to let them know that millionaires and billionaires can actually emerge from this sector,” Teke explained.
He added that by the end of the training, participants would have discovered ways through which they can attain their much needed financial freedom, investment opportunities in agriculture, new areas to rely on and inculcate in them the spirit of independent decision makers and how to become achievers.

While challenging youth to embrace the sector, Teke, urged government to put in much support to the sector and make it encouraging for thee youth. He revealed that with their trainings on modern farm methods, Cameroon can gradually begin consuming at least 90% organic food and reduce the over dependence on chemical foods.
The agriculture investment platform offers registered members free agric consultation, access to interest free soft loans, local and international training trips on chosen areas with expenses covered, exposure to potential markets, easy access to fertilizer and other organic materials to enhance productivity, improved agric techniques, access to financial training, coaching, business and self-development programs as well as monthly residual income among others.
The platform created in 2017 has so far trained and financially empowered over 3000 persons across the continent and beyond. It also processes varied farm produce and exports to foreign markets, imports and supplies agriculture inputs like machines and fertilisers to farmers and registered members.
