Following ominous collapse of SCOAN building

T.B Joshua’s followers defect massively
The wind has blown and exposed the fowl’s anus! By failing to predict and possibly preempt the collapse of part of his Synagogue Church, the SCOAN, and the killing of atleast 115 persons as a result, the self-proclaimed Prophet, who claims to foresee everything, has had his shortcomings brought to the fore!

The ground under the feet of Temitope Balogun Joshua (popularly known as Prophet T. B. Joshua) and his Lagos-based Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) seems to be giving way. Since September 12, 2014 when part of the SCOAN building collapsed and killed over 115 members of the church, adepts have been renouncing their membership in their numbers, this commentator has learned reliably. Not only do they flay the “Man of God” for failing to see the catastrophe coming, they fear the collapse could be a harbinger of more tragic happenings in the future.
That Joshua, who purports to foretell important events and occurrences, failed to announce the looming disaster, has rattled many of his followers, past like present. Some contend that he does not have the powers he claims to have, reason why he did not see the collapse well ahead of time. Others, for their part, argue that the SCOAN Overseer actually foresaw it and allowed it to happen as a way of sacrifice.

“I now understand what some insightful people had been telling me about this self-styled Prophet,” Emelda Anagho, a Yaounde-based former disciple of Joshua who had been to the SCOAN on five occasions before the September 12 incident, told this commentator. “Not all powers come from God, no matter how many times His name is pronounced by those with such powers. And when you pay allegiance to Satan, you must at some point sacrifice human blood to him. This could just be what has happened at the Synagogue.”
Another one-time adept of the SCOAN who sought anonymity sounded even gloomier: “I started raising questions about what that man [Joshua] is doing when a friend of mine, Ephraim Nfor Yunweh (God bless his soul) died in the SCOAN not too long ago. I told myself that from little things the greatest often grow. In September, more than 100 people died. Next month or next year, it could be 1 000 or more. If Joshua does not give a convincing explanation for those deaths, he will never see me or any of my family members in his church again.”
It is not only Cameroonians who are asking questions about the true cause of the SCOAN carnage. People all over the world and especially South Africans who lost 84 of their compatriots in the September 12 catastrophe have still not come to terms with the doleful happening. This is especially so as reports from Lagos on the day of the tragedy said not only did Joshua hesitate to allow rescuers access into the collapsed building, he also bribed journalists to stay mute in order for him to spread his own version of the facts.
According to the “Man of God”, the lethal terrorist Islamic sect Boko Haram might have been responsible for the incident. He has been telling whoever cares to listen that a mysterious plane (possibly belonging to Boko Haram) flew four times round the building at a low altitude before it collapsed. And that as soon as the building crashed, the plane disappeared. The following day at the SCOAN, the usually effervescent T. B. Joshua preached rather meekly to attendees, his tails between his hind legs. His was not the characteristically high-pitched language in which he berated the “demon-possessed” but rather a low-toned lingo in which he wished the “culprits”, somewhat resignedly, to be uncovered.
After the incident, the SCOAN Overseer announced his intent to travel to Jacob Zuma’s country to pay homage to the deceased South Africans. However, still seething with anger, officials of the African National Congress (ANC), the country’s foremost political party, have asked him to first render a satisfactory account of the killings before he can be allowed to set foot on South African soil.
With the SCOAN now losing membership and popularity the world over, it is believed in many circles that the end of what has been described as T. B.’s controversial ministry is in sight. The question on many lips now is what will become of this 51-year-old dude of Yoruba descent who is said to be the 5th richest evangelist on the globe?
