Councilors of Nkum Council sitting in an
ordinary session on Wednesday April 22 at the Nkum Council Hall deliberated and
adopted the 2015 Administrative, Management and Stores Accounts of the council
in the presence of the second assistant SDO for Bui.
In
a succinct explanation of how the money was raised and spent, the Mayor of Nkum
Council, SuilaArunaKidze revealed that the 2015 Accounts for Nkum Council
stands at FCFA 422,340,107 plus the FCFA 75,219 brought forward from 2014
making a total of FCFA 422,415,326.
Total expenditure he said stands at FCFA 416,689,812 leaving an excess
of FCFA 5,725,514 carried forward to 2015.
According
to reports from Councils Municipal Treasury In 2014 the total revenue
collection stood at FCFA 379,511,973 against FCFA 422,415,326 for 2015 year
making an increase of FCFA 42,903,33 that is an 11.30% increase.
The
expenditure witnessed similar progress from FCFA 379,436,754 in 2014 to FCFA
416,689,812 in 2015 making a value increase of 37,253,058frs and a percentage
increase of 9.82%.
In
the 2015 budget, they earmarked FCFA 268,240,000 for investment but only FCFA
168,548,662 was collected with a 62.8% realization.
The
programmed investment stood at FCFA 222,500,000frs and FCFA 211,759,823 was
spent to this effect giving a percentage realization of 95.2%.
To
this effect, SuilaArunaKidze saluted the efforts of the entire staff for thier
significant increase especially those who collected and paid in more than the
budget estimate. He however condemned
those who could not make up with their collections as per the budget
estimate.
“I
also want to promise that we will do our best to put in place facilities and
strategies to enhance maximum collection and consequently hold accountable
those who fail to make the expected targets” promised the mayor.
As
to how the money was spent, Mayor SuilaArunaKidze said in the education domain
they carried out feasibility studies for the construction of two classrooms
each in tGSKishong, GS Tsen-Mah, GS Wooh – Mbam, GS Mbamsong, GS Beshi, GS
Ngamantse –Buh and GSS Buh, supplied didactic material to some seventeen
schools, supplied 170 benches to some six secondary schools amongst others.
In
terms of road construction he said they maintained the Takijah – Kuvlu road
with funding from the 2015 Public Investment Budget and constructed six
temporal bridges on the Takov – Ndzevruh; Takov – Waikov, Wooh – Ndzevruh;
Ngaan - Waikov I; Ngaan – Waikov II and Ndzen-Mborong – Waikov roads.
He
added that a modern motor park and market was constructed in Tatum comprising
56 open sales stands and a water system VIP toilet, fruits of PNDP – Nkum
Council partnership as well as 12 lock-up sheds financed from State Decentralized
Funds.
Mayor
Jaff also cited the successful organization of the 2015 Day of Fellowship with
Persons Living with Disabilities which he said opened a new horizon with the
envisaged signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the SEEPD Programme
of the CBC Health Services for the integration of inclusive education and
others into the Nkum Council Programme of activities.
