The
leader of the Muslim Community in Bali, Chief Mohammadou Madugu told The Median
that by the time of the final completion of the mosque, a colossal sum of FCFA
17 million would have been consumed in the process.
In
his address to the Muslims who had gathered in their hundreds to welcome their
August guest, Senator Ganyonga said he had come to join hands with them to
build their house of worship. He noted that no matter how huge the project may
be, it must be started from somewhere.
The
Senator appealed to the leaders of the Muslim Community to be gender sensitive
as they construct the mosque so that the women folk can have a place in the
mosque. Senator Ganyonga hailed the loyalty of the Muslims to the government of
President Paul Biya and to the institutions of the state.
The
Senator recalled the atrocities being carried out by the Boko Haram terrorists.
He advised the Muslims to denounce all such acts and report all suspected and
strange individuals in their midst.
“Report all strange faces to the Police,
the Gendarmerie or to the Divisional Officer,” Senator Doh advised. He assured
the Muslims that he had heard of their problems about land, promising that he
would look into the problem and bring lasting solutions.
Meanwhile
Chief Mohammadou Madugu, speaking on behalf of the Muslim folks pledged their
total support to the Senator, and loyalty to the government of President Paul
Biya. He noted that his people were wishing the Senator continuous rise to
other top positions of the state. The Muslim Chief appreciated the gifts from
the Senator.
It
is worth noting that in addition to the cash donation, the Senator also handed
over to the people bags of salt and cartons of boxes of matches. The people,
through their leader pledged to use the gifts judiciously.
