After the towns of Maroua, Garoua,
Ngaoundere, Bertoua, Ebolowa and Douala the installation of regional and
divisional delegates of the CPDM party continued in Buea on Thursday 16 June
2016, where the permanent delegates to the six divisions of the region were
installed to their various functions alongside the regional delegates.
The
divisional delegates were appointed by a decision of the national president of
the CPDM, Paul Biya on 19 May 2016. The members of regional delegations were
appointed way back in December 2015.
Thus
Senator Peter MafanyMusonge was installed as the head of the South West
regional permanent delegation of the CPDM Central Committee, with Hon.
EbongNgole John, Hon. Chief TabetandoNdiep-Nso, Hon. Forju Bernard, and Mrs.
Bertha NdohBakata as members.
Meanwhile,
the charges de mission of the regional delegation are Mr. Monono Humphrey Ekema
and Mr. Oben James Agbor.

Hon. MonjowaLifaka Emilia, H.E. NgolleNgolle Elvis, Mr. Tasong Paul, H.E.
MengotArrey Victor, Justice Benjamin Itue and Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute were
also installed as the heads of their respective divisional delegations.
Chaired
by the secretary General of the CPDM, Jean Nkuete, the installation ceremony
brought together officials and militants of the CPDM including section and
sub-section presidents, MPs and Mayors. The SDO of Fako, Zang III, the VC of
the University of Buea, Dr. NalovaLyonga, traditional authorities and other
well-wishers were also present.
According
to the President of the CPDM Fako III Section, Mr. David Nanange, the people of
the SWR and Buea in particular will continue showing gratitude to the party’s
hierarchy for making Buea the bus stop of the party.
Going
by the SG of the Central Committee, Jean Kuete,
the party chairman’s initiative to create regional and divisional
delegations will help help in the
decentralization of powers within the party. Jean Kuete called on the delegates
to show respect for party texts and to ensure fruitful collaboration with the grass
roots authorities of the party
Also
speaking during the event, one-time Prime Minister, Senator Peter MafanyMusonge
described Buea as the land standing on the giant rock-the Mt. Fako. He said as
the mountain erupts and grows in height so too will the CPDM keep growing.
Hear
him: “the Buea Mountain is a rock that symbolises the greatness of our party.
As the mountain keeps growing in height so too will the party continue to grow
bigger and stronger”.
In
solidarity with Cameroon’s armed forces, MafanyMusonge called on militants who
turned out for the installation ceremony to stand up and congratulate the brave
soldiers fighting the terrorist insurgents in the Far North and in the East
regions of the country. According to
him, Boko Haram insurgents have been pushed back and they now have no hiding
place.
He
congratulated militants for their massive support to the party during the last
presidential and parliamentary elections in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
Speaking
to the Median Newspaper, the head of the permanent Divisional delegation for
KupeMuanenguba, Prof. Elvis NgolleNgolle, said all the members installed are
going to work collectively to carry the CPDM party in the South West to where
the National president wants it to be; which is that of making the party
stronger. He added that he and the members of his team will work in
collaboration and as a team to ensure that KupeMuanenguba remains the bastion
of the CPDM in the South West Region.
The
CPDM Secretary General’s next stop is Bamenda in the North West, on Wednesday,
22 June 2016.
