Catholic Christians in the town of Kumba and beyond have on November 1, 2016 joined the Dewah family to raise funds for the construction of John Paul II Parish in Pulletin quarters, Kumba. This was during the 9th edition of the Dr. Dewah Family Feast and Thanksgiving Day at the Dewah’s Residential Palace in Pulletin quarters, Kumba.
This 8th edition of the ceremony was celebrated under the theme: “God is the center of our initiatives and success”. It started with a solemn mass, presided over by the Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart Parish Fiango, Kumba, Rev Fr. PolycapFonjock.

Fr. Fonjock in his sermon, reminded the Catholic faithful that the November 1 in the Catholic calendar is celebrated as All Saints Day, a day when they remember and celebrate Saints who have leaved an exemplary life on earth. He equally told the Christians that sainthood is not for special people but for people who can distinguish themselves as a leader in everything they do. He added sainthood is not meant for people who do extraordinary things but for people who do very ordinary things excellently. He therefore called on Christians to live an exemplary life so that one day they can be celebrated as a saint.
On his part, Dr. Dewah on behalf of his family revealed that the family feast that culminates with their harvest thanksgiving was initiated nine years ago to thank God Almighty for his kindness towards their family. He revealed that for the past seven years the feast has always been celebrated in their family residence in Balikumbat but for the 8th edition which took place last year in Kumba to raise funds for the construction of the church building of the mission station, St. John Paul II.
According to Dr. Dewah the construction project which started last year is still at the foundation level because of limited resources. He therefore called on the financial support of all and sundry to see that the project is finally accomplished.
Dr. Dewah is a renowned international traditional medical practitioner who specializes in different infectious diseases.
