Moukandjo confirmed as Lions’ Captain
Indomitable Lions’ Coach, Hugo Broos has
officially named Benjamin Moukandjo as the captain of the national side. He
made the disclosure at a press conference he granted on 1 November 2016 at the
Fecafoot headquarters in Tsinga, Yaounde. Moukandjo replaces Stephan Mbia who
lost the captain band for yet unknown reasons.
It
is not however known why Hugo Broos chose Benjamin Moukandjo in preference to
ChoupoMoting and Vincent Aboubakar, who were first and second assistant
captains under Stephan Mbia.
It is feared that the decision by the
Belgian may rekindle the ego wars that has been the bane of the lions for some
time now.
