K’ba I Adopts 676m for 2018

The Kumba I council has adopted the sum of six hundred and seventy six million four hundred and ninety four thousand (676 494 000) fracs cfa balanced in revenue and expenditure as budget to transform the municipality and bring needed development in 2018. The amount was adopted by councilors of the council in a budgetary session held in the newly constructed council building.
                Speaking during the council session, Mayor Ebako Abel Ndoh said priority projects in 2018 will be the construction and rehabilitation of roads, opening of new streets, construction of culverts, compensation for land expropriated at Kake II for the construction of a market and council guest house, purchase of canoes for Lake Barombi as well as settlement of unpaid bills and salaries.
                Mayor Ebako praised the political maturity demonstrated by the councilors who despite their political backgrounds have united to bring the much needed development to the municipality.

                He listed some accomplished projects in 2017 such as construction of the Muyen Water Catchment at Mpenye and Sustainer street behind PHS Kumba, drainage of gutters at GBTTC bridge, GRA up station, Kumba water from Cassava farm to behind the district hospital, disinfected Kake II, Kake I Bongwana, Diffa and Barombi Mbo villages, construction toilets as well as training of youths at the women’s empowerment center amongst others.
                He pleaded with the SDO for him to join them to lobby for the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, to personal come to Kumba and inaugurate the new council building that has just been constructed.
                On his part, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, Meme SDO called on the Mayor to respect the 40% of the budget allocated for investment and make sure it is implemented. He equally decried the unorthodox hygienic methods of some households and business places in the municipality. The SDO urged the Mayor to make available the list of all council property both in good or bad shape in order to make it known to the administration as their mandate soon draws to a close.
