The death has
been reported of emblematic Bikutsi star, Mbarga Onomo Jean alias Mbarga
Soukous. He died suddenly in Yaounde, on Thursday 29 November 2017.

Bikutsi composer-singer, Mbarga Soukous is no more. He succumbed to what
sources said was a massive heart attack, in the night of Wednesday breaking
Thursday, in Yaounde.
The author of Essamba Essamba,
“long courrier” and Nsono Nsono died at age 62.
For someone who started his
music carrier as a gospel singer, Mbarga Soukous only came to the limelight in
the early 1990s after he released his epoch-making Bikutsi album “Essamba”. Put
on the market in 1989, it was in
1991/92 that Essamba took the Cameroon hit parade by storm, meriting for Mbarga
Soukous a Gold album.
We learned that Mbarga Soukous
died as he was in the studio preparing his next solo album that was to hit the
music market in 2018.
He is survived by his wife, four
children (two boys and two girls) and his thousands of fans.
