Buea Council donates didactic materials to
primary schools

Few days to the 2015 World Teachers’ Day,
some 41 schools of the Buea municipality have received didactic materials from
the Buea Council, in a bid to assist them in the teaching process.
The
revelation to assist these teachers was made public last Friday October 2, 2015
by the Mayor of the Buea Council, Patrick EkemaEsunge in a brief interview with
journalists.
According
to the Mayor, the didactic material that will serve as teaching aid to the
teachers and their respective schools comprised rulers, books, chalks, pens,
sport materials and other stationaries. The short-lived event that took place
at the Buea Council Chambers brought together Head Teachers and teachers of
some schools of the municipality.
While
donating the materials, the Mayor thanked the teachers for their enthusiasm
adding that, there is need for a symbiotic relationship between the Buea
Municipality and Buea educational institutions.
In
a bid to ensure the proper utilization of these materials, the Mayor urged
these teachers to use them correctly for the betterment of the teaching and
learning process by students. Talking to the Median, Patrick Ekema told said,
these materials are meant to ease the teaching process and that all teachers
use them to “impact knowledge into the young ones”.
In
his address, the Mayor, promised that the council will work in collaboration
with the education sector, the basic education sector of the municipality in
particular to ease the process of teaching. “Teachers have taken the task to
nurture and impact knowledge, and so it should be done well”-he added. Bearing
in mind that the council has taken a bold step in motivating teachers and
supporting education, it will only be true to say that the Buea Council has a
lot in store for teachers come 5th of October, when they will be celebrating
Worlds Teachers Day.
To
the Inspector of Basic Education for Buea, Mrs. Lisinge Magdalene, the kind
gesture from the Buea Council is necessary since it includes some items most
basic education schools of the municipality never had before now.
