The Government delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Vincent NdumuNji has observed that Bamenda is no longer that city where Heroes come to die but rather a city where heroes are made.
He made the observation on April 28, 2016 during the installation of the new SDO for MezamMrSonga Pierre Rene who was appointed last April 5, 2016 and who formerly was SDO of the Bamboutos Division of the West Region.
Vincent NdumuNji justified his observation by citing the recent appointment of Mr Felix NgueleNguele, former SDO for Mezam who served Mezam for three years as the Governor of the South Region.
While addressing the mammoth population that came to bid farewell to the outgoing and welcome the incoming SDO, the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council appreciated Felix NgueleNguele, for his humane and selfless services to Mezam Division in general and to the Bamenda City Council in particular.
Amongst other things that Felix NgueleNguele helped BCC to accomplish according to the Delegate is the development of  a land use plan for the city, construction of a series of business shades to boost the business sector and the management of traffic in the city through the installation of parking meters.
On other areas that the former SDO did not finally help accomplish such as the tarring of the Santa-Bamenda road, the construction of a double carriage road on the Bamenda – Bambili road, the institution of order in the motorbike sector, Vincent NdumuNji, hoped the city of Bamenda will be better if the incoming SDO can continue from where his predecessor stopped.

The Governor of the North-West Region, AdolfeLeleLafrique on his part called on the new SDO to give a listening ear to all but to ensure that the republican values are upheld. He equally called on the new SDO ensure the proper functioning of government services within the Division.
Taking into consideration that a Bamenda man is one who knows his/her rights, the Governor equally urged him to enhance democracy and the respect of human rights by honoring citizens and amongst others and to encourage the peaceful settlement of all conflicts.
The ceremony ended with the signing and handing over of documents at the SDO's Office at Up Station Bamenda, as well as presentation of gifts to the out gone and newly installed SDOs
