Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou:


Ist Woman to Head National Youth Council
Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, 26, is the new president of the Cameroon National Youth Council, NYC. She was elected at a two-day elective general assembly of the institution holding in Yaounde on 31 March to 1 April 2018.
            Fadimatou is the third president and the first woman to head the NYC since its creation in 2009.
            She will be assisted by Princely Kafain and Anastasie Abomo Meyanga as 1st and 2nd vice presidents respectively. They have a mandate of three years renewable.
            The election of the national bureau of the NYC was the culmination of the renewal of the regional structures of the institution that ended on 17 February 2018.

            Fadimatou Iyawa hails from the Adamawa region. She holds two Master’s Degrees in Computer Science and Management Information Systems respectively. A veritable leader, Fadimaou heads several other youth associations in different domains.
            She takes over from Jean Marc Afesi Mbafor, who was appointed as one of the 18 members of the Bilingualism and Multi-Culturalism Commission in January 2017.
