Two teams withdraw from FECAFOOT organized competitions
-Owner indicts NW FECAFOOT
Lawyer Sopo Ngwa Founder of America For Africa FC Bamenda and Rush Football Academy (RUFA) Bali, both teams in the North West Regional Second Division league and also owner of the former Phoenix FC Bali has withdrawn his clubs from all FECAFOOT organized competitions in Cameroon. The competitions include the NW Division II Football championship and the Cup of Cameroon. The withdrawal of both clubs takes effect immediately.
    Lawyer Sopo Ngwa in a statement released to The Median said “I am fed up with those at the head of NW Fecafoot in Bamenda who are interested only in their own personal gains and putting aside the general interest. Even the fact that there are very few NW boys at the various levels of the National Teams in Cameroon means nothing to these officials. I am not even sure if registration fees collected from clubs in the NW Region are reported to Yaoundé. NW Fecafoot officials go on missions, collect huge sums of money for those missions but do not give an account to the very clubs that they are supposed to be representing. Yet, they contribute almost nothing towards the promotion of football in the NW Region”.

    He lamented that “corruption is the order of the day in football in the NW Region of Cameroon”.
    Lawyer Sopo copied the Governor of the Northwest Region, the Prime Minister and the Presidency of the Republic.
    According to the philanthropic lawyer, who has invested heavily in the promotion of young talents in the region for over 8 years now, the situation of Yong Sports Academy is worrying.
    “Yong Sports Academy have not received their prize money for lifting last year's edition of the Cup of Cameroon, but it means nothing to NW Fecafoot officials,” he regretted.
    Lawyer Sopo says he cannot understand how Kaba Christopher and Hilary Fortibui could have represented the NW Region at the current World Cup in Brazil instead of Yong Jack who runs Yong Sports Academy in National Elite I and the National Polytechnic Bambui in National Elite II championships.
    “How is Kaba Christopher and Fortibui Hilary contributing to the development of football in the NW Region?” he questioned.
“Do these individuals know how much football promoters in Nkambe, Banso and Ndop  just to name these places spend to run teams in the league year in and year out?…What has diehard football promoters like the president of Mankon FC ever benefitted for his sacrifices?” he wondered aloud.
    The withdrawal of the two teams will pose a big hurdle to the organization of the league which has already seen the forfeiture of two teams, Mbengwi FC and Nkambe FC before the close of the first round of the league over a month ago.
    The running of the league leaves a lot to be desired as there are claims of match fixing, poor planning, huge running cost, no incomes from gate takings, no security and heavy fines from the local FA. Some observers have pinned it down to monotony because there are the same officials running the game ever since. There is the need for some soul searching to be done, the organization of the competition stepped up and some of the old habits dropped to rescue NW football.
