Senator Dr. Djomo Kamga is expected in Yaounde for a four-day working visit during which he would commune with the Bandjoun community here and preach the virtues and values in the customs and traditions of the Bandjoun people.
HRM Dr. Djomo Kamga would pay courtesy visits to administrative and traditional authorities in the capital city on Friday 25 July, before proceeding to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Bandjoun Cultrual Centre situated at Tsinga. He will later grant audiences to some illustrious sons and daughters of Bandjoun residing in Yaounde.
But the high point of his majesty Djomo Pokam’s visit would be the grand cultural jamboree (Tamdee), at the esplanade of the conference centre, on Sunday 27 July 2014.
The ceremony will witness cultural animations, dance displays, popular homage to HRH Djomo Kamga, speeches, prize awards to laureates of the “MEGUESSAM 2014” and Ghomala’ 2014 respectively, and award of gifts to his royal majesty. A sumptuous reception would crown the ceremonies.
On Monday 28 July 2014, HRM Djomo Kamga will visit and encourage sons and daughters of Bandjoun who own big businesses in Yaounde.
It should be mentioned that Bandjoun, the capital of Koung-Ki division in the West region has some of the most successful and wealthiest businesses tycoons in Cameroon. The famous billionaire Fotso Victor, his jailed son Yves Michel Fotso, Calvin Foinding owner of Satellite insurance, Fotso owner of express union are only some of the few who immediately come to mind.
The perculiarity of the Banjounais is that when he says he would do something, come rain come shine he would do it,” said the chief of the Bandjoun community in Yaounde, Hon. Kouinche Albert (Sa’BUGOUONG) at a press briefing in Yaounde last week to announce the visit of the paramount ruler.
A very dynamic, hardworking, united and prosperous people, the Bandjoun community has one of the best and biggest community halls in Yaounde - the famous Foyer Banjoun situated at the Etoa-Meki quarters. It was built and donated to the Bandjoun community by billionaire business tycoon, Fotso Victor.
