The populations of Nguti sub-division and
beyond now have every reason to engage in intensive and extensive oil palm
agriculture this with the installation of a giant oil mill in Mboka village,
barely a stone throw from Nguti main town.
The
technical reception for the oil mill built by a Douala-based engineer, upon the
command of Mr. Okie Johnson Ndoh (Initiator and owner of the project) and
co-sponsored by the Ministry of Small and Medium sized enterprises through its
PACD/PME program and a local commercial bank, was done on Friday 22 July 2019,
in the presence of the DO of Nguti, the mayor of Nguti; the CPDM MP for Nguti,
Hon. Clara AlehEyabi, traditional chiefs and a curious crowd of enthusiastic
villagers and on-lookers.
Welcoming
guests on the occasion, the mayor of Nguti, Mr. Enoh George hailed the
initiator Okie Johnson and especially the sponsors of the wonderful and very
opportune project, saying that it will go a long way to not only boost
agriculture and economic activity but also alleviate poverty and create jobs
for the populations of Ngutisud-division.
For
his part, the delegate of Small and Medium-size Enterprises for the SW, Mr.
Peter Dibo, also congratulated the initiator of the Sinke SARL Oil Company
project, Mr. Johnson Okie Ndoh for conceiving what he described as a landmark
project. He noted that when the project draft was presented to the ministry it
took no time for it to be readily endorsed for financing by the PACD/PME
program.
And
that was perhaps why the SMEs delegate encouraged other sons and daughters of
Nguti to also conceive projects, saying that the government will always
accompany them once the projects are seen to be well-conceived, community-based
and sustainable.
It
should ne noted that the PACD/PME program provided funding for the acquisition
and installation of the machines and for initial payment of salaries. Meanwhile
the project initiator and owner provided the site and sourced for more funding
to complete the other components of the project.
The
Oil Mill comprises of a buncher to separate the nuts from the palm bunches; a
screening machine to separate the nuts from unwanted peelings; two boiling
tanks, conveyor channels and two storage tanks with a capacity of 2500 litres
each, apart from other components.
Built
with machines imported from France and propelled by a British made stand-by
electricity generator, the oil mill has a 25-year guarantee, and a production
capacity of 25.000 litres per day.
Receiving
the project, Mr. Okie Johnson Ndoh (the project initiator and owner) thanked
the Ministry of SMEs and the authorities of NFC Bank for providing the funding
and other support. Mr. Okie said by working hard to see the project come to
fruition, his aim was to demonstrate to the populations of Nguti that the
government is always ready to accompany them especially when it comes to
creating jobs and alleviating poverty.
The
senior elite of Nguti who doubles as State Inspector and DAG in the ministry of
Supreme State Control, exhorted the essentially farming populations of Nguti
sub-division to take advantage of the oil mill and increase palm production.
For
his part, the DO of Nguti hailed Mr. Okie Johnson for the project and expressed
the hope that the oil mill goes operational without delay. Kombe Henry called
on the population to support and collaborate with the project owner so that the
project is crowned with success.
