Brain Trust Consulting & Business Inc.
(SARL) is a limited liability company (LLC) founded in October 1994 whose
manager since its inception is Professor GegoryJiogue. Their areas of expertise
are: consulting and legal studies, text writing, contracts etc.
The
Brain Trust firm, which patiently built its reputation on its professionalism
and the exceptional quality of its customer portfolio, has recently been under
scandalous, defamatory and ridiculous attacks carefully orchestrated and
maintained in the national and international opinion by individuals and the
media whose objectives are not ignored by anyone.
Indeed,
with rare courage, some individuals, who claim to be opinion leaders, declared
and tried to demonstrate by ludicrous gymnastics that Brain Trust pocketed the
staggering amount o FCFA 14 billion for some, and FCFA 28 billion for others,
for the drafting of the Cameroonian criminal code.
Purposely
ignoring the fact that Brain Trust won the contract for the drafting of three
codes as the result of a public tender, these individuals argued that it is
thanks to the support of one of its founders, the then minister delegate at the
ministry of justice that this contract was obligingly awarded to them.
Some
of them, more imaginative, who present themselves to the public as
“investigative journalists” claim abruptly, shamelessly and without any
evidence that the contract was for the amount of CFAF 28 billion and that Brain
Trust redistributed half of its profits to the highest state authorities.
It
is important to remember that Brain Trust responded to a call for expressions
of interest published, as usual, in Cameroon Tribune. Following this call for
expressions of interest, three consulting firms were shortlisted for the tender
whose purpose was: updating the criminal code, the production of a bilingual
civil code and a bilingual civil and commercial procedures code.
At
the end of the review of technical and financial proposals of bidders by the
procurement commission, Brain Trust was awarded the contract. After filing the
preliminary draft civil code, the contracting authority asked Brain Trust to
merge that draft to the draft code of persons and the family which was already
available.
Brain
Trust was legally awarded the contract for the drafting of those codes only on
the basis of the quality of its consultants both national and international, of
its financial and technical proposals and its track record in Cameroon and
abroad. In addition, the cofounder of the Brain Trust firm was neither the
firm’s manager nor a member of the procurement commission of the ministry of
justice.
These
facts can be confirmed with authorities and competent bodies, who were in
charge of the various stages of the procurement process, but also with the then
minister of justice, by the media and all those who wish to disseminate the
right information and not to pose as hateful slanderers.
However,
for the sake of transparency that, so far, justifies the trust of its
customers, domestic and foreign partners, so that the public opinion realizes
that behind this nauseating campaign lies an unstated objective, Brain Trust
publishes below extracts from documents relating to the award and the amount of
the famous codes contract.
Brain
Trust regrets that some national and international media, which have never
sought to have any clarifications, with a disconcerting amateurism,
disseminated an alleged “information” on a contract of FCFA 14 billion for some
and FCFA 28 billion for others pocketed by Brain Trust.
Brain
Trust hopes that for the sake of their credibility in the public opinion, the
media and some so-called “investigative journalists” will apologize to their
readers and listeners as soon as they read this documented declaration.
Brain
Trust also thanks its partners and customers, domestic and foreign, who have
re-affirmed their support during this long smear and defamatory campaign.
Brain
Trust nevertheless reserves the right to identify and file a complaint for
defamation against those who have published or continue to disseminate fale
information on its activities.
