Buea Central Zonal Championships:

Rich Gang FC emerge Champions
The 2017 Buea council inter-quarter football competition for the Bueacentral zone ended last Tuesday August 22, 2017 at the P&T school field where Rich Gang of Buea Town beat Fan Club Eto’o of Bakweri Town 1 goal to zero to be crowned champions.
                The goal for Rich Gang FC was scored by Nkembo Oscar at the 7 minutes of play thanks to a terrific strike.
                It should be recalled that the Buea council inter-quarter football cup competition involved 4 zones. The Muea court Area, Bojongo, Buea central and Bonavada court Area. Fair play FC was crowned champions of the Bonavada zone. The final of the Muea court area will take place this Sunday August 27, 2017.
                To the captain of Rich Gang FC, LumaAmbe, it is a magnificent day to win such a trophy as we were considered as the under dogs since from day one, but the under dogs are now the champions. “With the super cup coming in the days ahead, we are going back to the drawing board to make sure that we are more ready for the task ahead because we know it is not going to be easy but we expect to the champions again”. 

                To Mayor Ekema, organizer of such a tournament, the championship has been going on smoothly as the population has come out at mass to chair their various teams to victory in all the court areas where the tournament is being hosted. “The essence of this tournament was to bring the youths together who have been traumatize with the ongoing socio-political hindrances in the country especially in the Anglophone regions. The other objective was to search for talents and we believe such talents have been found”. 
New Innovation
                According to Mayor Ekema Patrick this 2017 edition of the tournament is very peculiar as after the tournament, a third division team will be created and affiliated to FECAFOOT South West.
                “After the tournament, 40 players will be selected with the number trimmed further to 20 who will then consist of a third division team to compete in the Fako league comes next season”.
A technical team has already been in place to make sure they scout the talents that are required to take part in the third division come next football season.
                The 7th edition of the Buea council inter-quarter football tournament will culminate in a super tournament which brings together 2 teams from each of the four court areas to take part with the final scheduled for September 2, 2017 at the Molyko Sport Stadium.
