Boy Beaten to death for Stealing Coconut
A young boy in his mid-twenties has been beaten to death in Kumba for stealing coconut. The boy who was fondly referred to as Kaka was actually caught in the act in the Pulletin neighbourhood in Kumba II subdivision during the early hours of Thursday June 14, 2018.
            According to inhabitants of the neighbourhood it wasn’t the first time that the said Kaka was involved in the act of theft. They recounted that he has received several cases of beatings from the population on several other occasions for the same reason.It is said hehasd been caught and taken to the Gendarmerie for detention severally but his mother always goes there to secure his freedom.

Taxi Driver Shot Dead in Ikiliwindi, Kumba
A taxi driver has reportedly been shot to death by unknown gunmen on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at the locality of Ikiliwindi, Konye Sub-Division along the Kumba-Mamfe road. We gathered that the taxi driver who was heading to Kumba before the unfortunate incident was ordered by the gunmen to halt his vehicle while they were performing some rituals by the roadside. It was therefore it an attempt not to respect the orders of the gunmen that the driver was supposedly shot. Taxis drivers in Kumba are now mounting pressure on their executives to take a major decisions before the situation runs out of hand. 
            It should however be noted that the taxi drivers sector in Kumba has highly been affected by the ongoing Anglophone crisis. It should be recalled that at least four taxi drivers have died following bullet wounds sustain in the course of the crisis. Last week two other taxis well crushed by the military armoured vehicle in Kumba and their occupants severely injured.


Gun Battles Inundate Muyuka Sub-Division
Serious gun battles have been recorded in Muyuka sub-division between security forces and unknown gunmen. On Friday June 15, 2018 we got reports of serious exchanges around the locality of Ekona. Unconfirmed reports have it that in the course of the exchange, a relay antenna of a communication company was brought down. Earlier on in the week, there was also reported gun battle around the Muyuka market where it is said a woman sustained wounds from stray bullets behind the market at her business place.

Muyuka Deputy Mayor Kidnapped
The third deputy Mayor of Muyuka council in Fako Division has reportedly been kidnapped. Mr. Otto EbongeMukete was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday June 14 by unknown gunmen. His arrest comes after deadly gun battles that have for over a week engulf the sub-division. Though no group has claim responsibility of the alleged kidnapped, accusing fingers are pointing at the ‘Ambazonia’ hit and run fighters. Immediately news about his kidnapped went viral on social media, loyalists of the ‘Ambazonia’ course claim the supposedly kidnapped deputy Mayor is suspected to have been a spy for the soldiers leaking information about the presence of unknown gunmen to security forces in the area.

Muyuka Court of First Instance Burnt
            The court of First Instance in Muyuka, Fako Division of the Southwest region has completely been razed by fire. According to reports, the incident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday June 13, 2018. We gathered the court premise is located at the way-in of the Muyuka motor park at Balong quarter was burnt by unknown men. Accusing fingers are pointing at the ‘Ambazonia’ separatists fighters.
            The incident comes barely a week after the Muyuka legal department comprising the State Counsel’s chambers was burnt down. For over some months now, inhabitants of most villages in Muyuka sub-division had reportedly been warned from using the state judiciary system by the ‘Ambazonia’ fighters.
