The pioneer mayor of Limbe 111, Esebou Mokate Samuel was
on Saturday June 16 laid to rest at the new town cemetery Limbe.
Late
mayor Esebou slept in the lord on the 13th of May 2018 after suffering from
stroke which he had being battling with over the years.
He was elected into office in the July 2007 municipal
election as the pioneer mayor of the newly created council after Limbe was
divided into three.
He
served for five years before being replaced in 2013 following the results of
the council election. After his mayoral duties, he continued in his business
endeavors.
Esebou's
rich political portfolio can be traced from the early 1980's where he militated
with the CNU party till 1985. He then move to CPDM where he was an active
member of the party for 30years, culminating to his appointment as member of
the CPDM central committee.
On
behalf of the councillors, staff and population of Limbe 111 municipality, the
mayor of Limbe 111 Nzeke Dibotti Luma acknowledged the worthy contributions of
the late mayor who had the arduous task of developing a baby council amidst the
ever present challenges. He wiil be missed for his great contributions during
council sessions.
On his
part, the SG of CPDM Fako1C George
Burnley lamented over the loss of a man he described as "a good
collaborator" because of the active he played to see the party succeed.
Late
Esebou Mokate was born on march 25th 1958 at Bota, Limbe. He died at the age of
60 leaving behind a wife, five children relatives, friends, CPDM Fako 1C
executive and militants to mourn him.
