Muslims in Limbe Urged to Shun Violence

Muslim community in Limbe have been called upon to pray for peace, tolerance and stability to return to the nation.
            The call was made by the chief of the Bamum community in Limbe, Mounsande Amadou, during the feast of Ramadan which was celebrated on Friday 15 June 2018 at Mabeta praying ground and at the Limbe community field. He equally urged all the Muslims and non-Muslims in Limbe and beyond to be law abiding citizens.
            Chief Mounsande said the prayer for peace in the country can not be overemphased at the time when the country is facing high rate of terrorism and violence perpetrated by some vicious set of individuals.
            During his preaching, the Imam of the central mosque in new town stated it is Allah's wish for all his people to live in unity and so Muslims should pray that Almighty Allah grant peace and stability in the country especially to those affected by the socio economic crisis in the Anglophone regions.
            On his part, the Imam of central mosque 2 in Limbe, Issa Kouotou, explained that the feast of Ramadan is a great event for Muslims as they end their fasting which is one of the pillars of Islam.

            He said their main message of the day is to remind Muslims of the meaning of worship because through worship, there is security in the heart and environment.
            "With the situation the country is facing, it is only through prayers, peace and love that we can summit our needs for the protection of our country and pray Allah to grant victory to the army who are fighting in all corners of the national territory," said Imam Issa during his preaching.
            He enjoined Muslim faithful to refrain from acts of violence especially during this period of crisis in the Anglophone regions.
            Another highlight of the feast was the reception offered by the General Manager of SONARA Ibrahim Talba Malla at his residence to top officials of the South West region including the governor, Bernard Okalia Bilia.
            The Ramadan feast marks the end of 30 days of fasting which according to Muslims must be observed by all followers of prophet Mohammed.
