Limbe1 Council Organizes Open Door Day

The mayor of the Limbe 1 council Ro Danny Mbua has urge the people of his municipality to participate in the development of the town as well as improve the living condition of the people  so that the city can go forward for development is contributive so they need local solution for progress.
    He made the call during the open door day of the Limbe 1 council on local governance which took place on Wednesday November 27 at the council premises. The mayor said the open door day which they partnered with PROMUD-GIZ to organize to create a permanent dialogue platform between the citizen and the council as to their participation in local governance and to make information accessible to the population.
    He said it was also aimed at sensitizing its citizens on council services and actions. He added that it gave them the opportunity to communicate with the population of their municipality as he used the occasion to tell the people what they do at Limbe 1.
    The various activities at the open door day include; workshops with several facilitators on topic such as; local economic development, civil status registration, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, roles and responsibility to promoting life in the municipality amongst others. 

    The open door day was attended by economic operators, co-operatives, syndicates, sector ministries, youths, entrepreneur and others who took part in a competition in their various sectors. The best three winners in each category went home with prizes such as apron for best hair dresser, jackets for best bike riders and more.
    Most of the participants present at the ceremony were pleased with the initiative from the concerning in informing them on their services and creating a platform where their suggestion can be heard. Another set were particular please with most of the topics that were presented on during the open door day as it has given them inside on how they can assume responsibilities for developing their area.
     The mayor said through the communication they had with the population, they have heard their problems and will try to see the ones they can solve while those they can handle will be sent to hierarchy. He pleaded with the population not to always expect financial assistance when they are invited for a meeting at the council. He went further to state that from the atmosphere at the council and comments from the participants, he can dare to say the outcome of their first open day was successful. He said the have try but they will improve on some of their shortcoming this year and hopefully, if they are still there next year, they will do better.
    Also present at the open door day were exhibitors from Limbe 1 who came to exhibit their products at the event. They were crafters, “buyam sellam”, designers amongst others. Other highlight of the ceremony was singing, dancing and presentations of sketches on recovery and civil status.
