Setting the Records Straight:

Tabot Lawson Njalla, CPDM Parliamentary

Nfon Mukete Fabricated Me; I Cannot Fight a War Against Him
– Tabot Lawson Bakia aka Njalla

The CPDM Section President for Meme 1, who emerged as the Parliamentary candidate for the Kumba Urban constituency, has denied allegations in the press that he and the Paramount Chief of the Bafaws, Nfon V. E. Mukete and his sons had an open face-off on the corridors of the CPDM Central Committee in Yaounde.
Talking to this reporter on the sidelines of the funeral of Mayor Ekema Patrick in Buea, on Saturday, Tabot Lawson Bakia aka Njalla, said the allegations relayed by the press are fabrications by his political enemies who are all out to put him at odds with his political Godfather, Nfon Mukete.
Njalla said far from what was reported in the papers, no such thing as a brawl between himself, and the Nfon and his children ever occurred in Yaounde or anywhere else.
“It is not true. I see the hidden hand of my political detractors and enemies who are not happy about the privilege rapport I have with the Paramount Chief and are doing everything to destroy it. I know those who are behind the smear campaign but I would not mention their names here. But they should know that I know them because it is not today that they started fighting me,” said Njalla, who at once revealed that “If I am what I am and where I am today, it is all thanks to Nfon Mukete… So how can I be stupid and senseless as to fight somebody who created me? It would be like Peter denying Jesus, and God would not forgive me if I ever did such a thing.”

Njalla prayed Nfon Mukete give a deaf ear to the lies and fabrications of those he called idle minds and enemies of progress who are only out to destroy. He used the opportunity to reaffirm his total, unalloyed respect and loyalty to the Paramount Chief, whom he calls his father and creator.
It should be recalled that following the CPDM investitures in Kumba for the twin elections in February next year, it emerged that Njalla was picked as the parliamentary flag-bearer to be presented to the Central Committee for endorsement. But some voices in Meme CPDM told reporters that Njalla’s Choice was against the wish of Nfon Mukete, and that the Nfon was all out to get Njalla’s name dropped as the aspirant for Kumba, instead preferring that a Bafor child or a child from any of the four major tribes that make up Kumbe, should be projected.
The CPDM sources said Nfon Mukete and his sons actually availed themselves at the CPDM Head Quarters in Yaounde, where they tried desperately to get the CPDM Scribe, Jean Kuete to drop Njalla and replace him with a son of Kumba. They said learning about this, Njalla rushed to the CPDM headquarters where he met and took on the Nfon and his children.
But Njalla has sworn on a knife, saying he cannot imagine ever being a party to such a scene or when he ever had the guts to stand in front of his father and mentor, Nfon Mukete.
