Cycling Tour of Cameroon:



Buea makes second victory for Cameroonian cyclists

Mbah Herve Raoul of SNH Velo Club still owns the yellow jersey 


KamzongAbessolo Clovis of S.N.H Vélo Club crossed the finish line first on March 13, 2014 at the Buea Independent Square. It was the fourth lap of the 11th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon that was run from Douala through Limbe to Buea, a distance of 96km. Kamzong was triumphantly received by the Secretary General of the South West Governor’s office FON Clement NDIKUM, the Mayor of the Buea Council Patrick EKEMA and the Divisional Officer of Buea Paul WOKAM.

                The victory was the second for Cameroonians and Africans since the kick-off of the tour last March 9 in Ebolowa. MbahHerve Raoul of the same team had earlier won the third lap covering the 176km distance from Kribi to Douala. He seized the yellow jersey from the Dutch runner who had kept it after the first two laps.
                Ten teams of six runners each from ten countries are expected to run over a distance of 1054.6km. The seventh and last lap on March 18 will end in Yaoundé. The tour will take the runners through the South, Centre, Littoral, South West, West and back to the Center region.
                As for the general classification, MbahHerve Raoul of the SNH Velo Club is keeper of the yellow jersey which is worn by the best runner on points.
                As for the prices, the Cameroon Cycling Federation with its president, MoustaphaDogo, will hand FCFA 1.5 million to the overall winner on points, 750 thousand to the second and 370 thousand to the third. As for the prices per laps, the first for each lap bags the sum of 315 thousand FCFA, 157 thousand for the second and 78 thousand for the third. For the teams, the first goes with F CFA 300 thousand, the second 200 thousand and the third 180 thousand.
