An ultra modern rehabilitation center for the physically challenged in the South West Region has been created in Ikiliwindi, on the outskirts of Kumba. The FCFA 21 million centre known as Caisey Troy Foundation is the brain child of the Caisey Association with donors and sponsors based in Holland.

The Caisey Foundation currently handles over 150 children with physical challenges from the six divisions of the South West Region.
Inaugurating the centre recently, the 1st Assistant SDO for Meme, VecklineEpolleEwane challenged parents who have children in the centre to remain committed to the children.

To the donors and sponsors of the Foundation, EpolleEwane expressed gratitude to them saying that the government of Cameroon opened up the sector to civil society organizations and NGOs because of the enormous challenges involved.
She said success in making life better for the physically challenged can only be achieved if the Caisey Foundation works in collaboration with officials of the ministry of social affairs.
Speaking to the press, the executive secretary of Caisey Foundation Cameroon, GilianNnahTita explained that the idea was born out of a parent who bore a set of twins with one (Troy) Being Physically Challenged. Troy Caisey’s parents therefore decided to source for partners and donors to create a foundation that will make life normal for physically challenged children in society.
Tita however noted that, while the children would be taken care of by a physiotherapist, they will also have the opportunity to study.
Caroline Pim, Executive Secretary of the Board of Caisey Foundation disclosed that the second phase of the project is expected to kick-off in May 2014. Pim said some volunteers from Holland will soon visit the centre to train the staff.
