Jean Kuete to visit Kumba CPDM for
reconciliation talks
By Johnson Batuo in Kumba
The secretary General of the ruling CPDM
Jean Kuete would pay a working visit to Kumba in the days ahead. The announcement was made by the Meme
Coordinator of the CPDM Chief Justice Benjamin Motanga Itoe, during a
divisional coordination meeting that took place in Kumba on Monday 26 September
2016.
The
gathering, the first ever convened by Justice Itoe since his appointment as
Meme CPDM leader, was attended by CPDM section presidents of the three wings of
the party from CPDM Meme IA (Kumba I), CPDM Meme IB (Kumba II), CPDM Meme IC (Kumba
III), Mbonge and Konye and the members of the divisional coordination team.
At
the meeting each of the section presidents noted that militants were no longer
attending party meetings since the 2015 reorganisation of the basic organs of
the party.
After
listening to the various grievances, Justice Itoe announced that the SG of the
party Jean Kuete would pay a private visit to Kumba in the days ahead. He
however did not give the context of the visit or when the visit would take
place.
But
some members of the divisional coordination told The Median that Jean Kuete is
coming to Kumba to plead with Senator Nfon V.E. Mukete to use his royalty and
political clout to reconcile CPDM militants, especially in Kumba I, Kumba II
and Kumba III given that since the 2015 reorganisation exercise “losers” have
been boycotting all CPDM meetings, anniversaries and even national
celebrations, like youth Day (11 February), 20th May etc.
An
aggrieved CPDM militant who believed the reorganization exercise was rigged
later told this reporter that it would be difficult for any meaningful
reconciliation to take after the humiliation visited on Nfon Mukete and his
family by the CPDM hierarchy in Yaounde.
