New researchers told to move Cameroon to emergence

The 4th edition of the science convocation day has been celebrated in Yaoundé with newly recruited researchers called upon to maintain permanent contact with the world of competitive innovation and research in other to be more performant in contributing to the realization of the country’s economic objective.
                Celebrated under the theme:  “scientific research and innovation; garantor of performance and economic captivity”, focus was on the valorization of the research profession in all its domains and to instill the young researchers with a fresh desire to go for new inventories and discoveries that will enable the research community in Cameroon stand the test of time.

                The ceremony that took place at the Yaoundé sports complex hosted some 205 newly recruited researchers and their invitees amidst the presence of the minister of scientific research and innovation Dr. Madeleine Tchuinte who chaired the ceremony alongside partner ministers like professor Jacque Fame Ndongo of the ministry of higher education and minister ZachariPerevet of employment and vocational training amongst other high profile personalities who came to grace the celebrations.
                In the course of the ceremony, an inaugural lesson presented by Prof. Jean Louis Sesame Oyono, director in the ministry of scientific research and innovation schooled the newly recruits on the role of scientific research and innovation, and the transfer of technology towards economic growth and competitiveness in Africa .other activities in the course of the celebration included the award of scientific honors and decorations to some outstanding researchers amongst whom was prof. Jean Louis EssameOyono.
                The celebration of the scientific research day alongside the convocation of newly recruited researchers in the ministry of scientific research and innovation falls within the framework of one of its main missions prescribed according to decree no.2012/383 of 14 September 2012 pertaining to the organization of the said ministry according to which the ministry is charged with the elaboration of government policy in the domain of scientific research innovation, valorize and vulgarize the exploitation of research results in relationship with all sectors of the national economy, ministerial departments and other interested organs.
                In this respect, Minister Madeleine Tchuinte in her message emphasized on intensifying activities aimed at valorizing best research results and making them more visible to potential users for the development of the country. As incentive to young researchers, a special price for scientific excellence valued at 10 million cfafrs is made available by the head of state each year for best research results.
                This price have already been perceived by two young Cameroonians in the persons of; Marc Arthur ZangAdzaba creator of a cardiopad machine, and Tinzoh Divine inventor of a prototype machine for the peeling of egusi. On this day, the same price was equally awarded to five leaders of different research groups.
                The minister seized the opportunity to invite all investors and representatives of enterprises for an open dialogue with the ministry in other to better exploit research results for the creation of wealth and employment to young Cameroonians.
