Alex Song joins FC Sion, the fifth club in his career |
The former Cameroon international has sealed a move to
the Swiss top-flight side in a deal that runs through till the summer of 2020
Song who
began his professional football career at French side, Bastia featured just 22
times in the league for his last club Rubin Kazan before terminating his
contract with the Russian club in January this year due to unpaid salaries.
Song who
has not known good time in football since he disgracefully elbowed Croatian
forward, Mario Mandzukic in a group game in the 2014 world cup while playing
for Cameroon. Song’s early days at Arsenal showed signs of greatness but today
he is a premier potential who never went on to achieve full greatness and will
be reuniting with another former London based footballer in Pajtim Kasami at
Sion these days.
Sion is
currently unbeaten in the Swiss league after 4 games with just one win
recorded.
Song will
discover a new country and lifestyle for the rest of this season alongside the
likes of already established compatriots in the likes of Jean Pierre Nsame and
Nicolas Ngamaleu of defending champions, Young Boys Berne.
Song who
won 49 caps for Cameroon between 2008 and 2014 after he opted to play for
Cameroon over France where he had started as a Youth,joins he 8th European
club.
