Kumba, Meme Division:

Abducted Pastors & Quarter Head Freed On Ransom
By Doh Bertrand Nua in Kumba
Unknown gunmen have freed the abducted Kumba base Pentecostal pastor and the quarterhead of one of the restive neighbourhoods in Kumba. Pastor Shu Lambert of the Maranatha Ministry International and Pa Takang, quarter head of Nkamlikum I neighbourhood respectively were freed on Sunday July 29 after reportedly paying ransom of FCFA 3 million that was demanded by their abductors. The two men who were abducted at their residence regained their freedom after spending three days in captivity.
Our source, a resident of Nkamlikum also referred to as Lawyer Enow Street, told us that the gunmen have ordered inhabitants of the area to do a compulsory contribution of FCFA 2 million as their own support to the ongoing Ambazonia struggle.
All attempts by PaTakang’s wife to stop the gunmen from whisking away his husband on that fateful day was futile as she was given several strokes that left her panting, we learned.
Pa Takang was appointed quarter head by the Paramount ruler of the Bafaws, Nfon V.E. Mukete.

No official statement has been made on the kidnap and release of the Man-of-God by the Maranatha Ministries International where he is a senior Pastor.
Pastor Lambert is a household name in metropolitan Kumba. He has several radio programs on local radio stations in Kumba. He is the first man-of-God to be kidnapped since the escalation of the ongoing Anglophone crisis in Kumba.
Another development, another Kumba-based Pastor whose names we got as Mbuh Ayang Arrey of the Rapture Ministries has also regained freedom in the hands of his abductors. We gathered that the Man-of-God is receiving medical attention at a hospital in Kumba following the torture he received.
We learnt that his abductors first demanded FCFA 10 million but later reduced it to FCFA 3 million.
At press time we couldn’t independently confirm if the release of Pastor Mbuh, who is noted for treating mad persons, was linked to exchange of money or not.
Christians across different denominations have condemned the kidnapping of Men-of-God.
