Pastor Molindo Preaching for Peace in Cameroon
"There is no military power, odeshi or occultic solutions to the Anglophone crisis because God is the ultimate and the solution to the problems lies in his hands"
This statement was made by Rev Dr. Ejoka A. Molindo of the Methodist church in Limbe, while delivering a message during a Fako inter-religious service. The service which was to pray for the restoration of peace in Cameroon took place on Saturday August 11 2018, at the Manga Williams Avenue, Limbe.
The service was organised by Bakweri indigenes, and at the behest of Prof. Nalova Lyonga, minister of Secondary education. It had as theme: "Our God is able to do more than you ask for", drawing from Eph 3:20.
The organizers had as aim to seek the face of God in solving the ongoing Anglophone crisis and restore peace in the land.
Chosen by his colleagues to deliver the sermon, Rev Dr. Ekoka Molindo who doubles as the president of the Limbe chiefs’ conference, titled his message: "God shower peace upon our nation".
The message was embodied with different Bibles verses like John 14:25-31, Mark 4:35-41 which traced to Jesus power to calm the storm that was about to destroy the boat he was in with his disciples. He said the storm hovering over Cameroon will pass if only the people pray and look up to God.

"I have a dream that peace is around the corner and Cameroon ill laugh again because we have put God at the forefront of the crisis for, if God is for us, nobody can be against us" said Rev Ekoka.

Fako indigenes came in their numbers for the prayers
He joined his voice to others to denounce all forms of war, killings, burning of houses destruction of CDC which is the second employer after the state, kidnappings as a way of presenting grievances to the government.
He called on the youths to put down their guns and seek the face of the Lord while urging Christians to pray hard so that God can heal the nation.
There were also intercessory prayers where different ministers of the church took to the pulpit to pray for different issues such as prayer for the confession for peace, for Cameroon youths, love tolerance, forgiveness and for victims of the crisis amongst others.
Rev Welabi Maurice acknowledged that the church and state have both failed in their duty to lead the people and it is time to turn to God for assistance saying the war is a spiritual one. He equally called on those in the bushes and out of the country as refugees to come back to the home.
A message of peace was also delivered by the minister of secondary education Prof. Nalova Lyonga who is an indigene of the Bakweri clan. She appealed to the population especially youths to be the change everyone wants by setting the pace for peace. She said youths don't have the right to be dejected for everyone has the obligation to build Cameroon and make it great again.
Prof. Nalova took the opportunity to call on parents to send their children to school come September, saying they will have themselves to blame because everything concerning the next academic year will go according to plan. She nevertheless, wished the inter-religious service paves the way for a successful 2018/2019 academic year.
She used the occasion to also hail the mayor of Buea, Ekema Patrick Esunge, for the patriotism he has exemplified during these trying times. She called on others to emulate the courageous and steadfast mayor.
A Special collection of funds dubbed Fako peace initiative fund was also launched during the event The money collected will be used to help out victims of the current crisis.
The event also saw the presence of Christians from different denominations in Fako and choirs that came to sing and praise the lord for the return to normalcy in Cameroon.
