Extra-judicial killings in North Cameroon:

Issa Tchiroma Ignominiously Regurgitates Again
Issa Tchiroma
The Minister of communication has announced the arrest for trial of some seven Cameroonian soldiers who are suspected to be responsible for the killing of women and children in the Far North of Cameroon.
Issa Tchiroma’s announcement that was made on state radio contradicts an earlier statement he made denying that Cameroonian soldiers were responsible for the dastardly killings as was captured in a video and affirmed by Amnesty International.
In his rebuttal statement, Tchiroma told public opinion that Cameroonian soldiers were so well trained and professional, they could not carry out such atrocities. He said Amnesty was only out to destabilize Cameroon and its illustrious leader, Paul Biya.
Tchiroma said the soldiers captured in the video were from a different country, insinuating that they were Malian soldiers and not Cameroonians.
It was thus surprising to many when the same minister went on air Friday and told Cameroonians that after a thorough investigation, some seven suspected soldiers had been arrested in connection to the acts.

Yet the minister did not have the humility to apologize for disseminating “fake news” to Cameroonians.
The seven soldiers arrested included: Lt. Fobassou Etienne, Sgt Bityala Cyriaque Hilaire, Coporal Godwe Mana Didier, Corporal Tsanga, Donassou Barnabas, Manasse Jacobai and Ntieche Fewou.
Tchiroma in his statement on CRTV still hailed the Cameroon army for their “bravery, professionalism and determination” in combating terrorism in the country.
