Samuel Eto'o and ex-Cameroon captain Norbert Owona |
Former FC Barcelona forward and captain of Qatari club
side Qatar SC Samuel Eto’o has made available the sum of five hundred thousand
(500,000) Francs CFA to ex-skipper of the indomitable lions of Cameroon Norbert
Owona who lost everything he had in life.
Reports
say Owona lost his family in an accident, felt sick and is currently homeless.
He appealed to the government of Cameroon for assistance but his request was
not granted.
This led
to the intervention of the former Barcelona legend who stepped in to assist the
poverty-stricken former captain by providing him with some money. The UEFA
Champions league winner also promised to provide him a brand new house.
Owona
played several years for the Cameroon national team and represented the
indomitable lions in tow Africa cup of Nations, AFCON.
