New SW MINESEC Delegate Takes Office

The first ever female delegate of secondary education for the South West Region, Dr. Hannah Ngoto Etonde epse Mbua, has been commissioned into her functions. The technical handing ceremony took place on Friday, 31 August 2018 in Buea.
            Presiding over the handover ceremony, the Inspector-General at the SW Governor’s Office, Dr. Mohamadou, described Dr. Mbua Etonde as a woman with vast experience, having worked as classroom teacher and later as school principal, since 1992.  He promised the full support of the administration to the new delegate.
            Dr. Mohamadou reminded the new delegate of her immediate challenge, which is to ensure a successful and effective resumption of schools.
            For her part, Dr. Etonde Mbua appealed to parents to send their children to school in the new school year that resumes on Monday 3 September 2018.
            She said with good collaboration from the staffers of the regional delegation, she hopes to succeed in her new task, God willing.
            The outgoing regional delegate, Victor Yewohon, hailed Dr Mbua, saying she will be up to the task despite the challenges. He called on the staffers of the delegation to support the new delegate.


The Pedagogue in Politics
            A member of the ruling CPDM party since the 1990s, Hannah Etonde Mbua is the section president of WCPDM Fako III. She is also a member of the WCPDM National bureau. 
            Described as a strict disciplinarian both by teachers and students, Etonde Mbua says she is not strict for nothing.
            “I always want my students and others who work with me to do things right. When they do things right we reap the benefits together”.
            A holder of a Master’s and the PhD in Education Management from the University of Buea, Etonde Mbua has had an extensive career as a teacher and and school principal.
            A Bakweri from Great Soppo (Soppo Mokongo) in Buea, she was the principal of GHS Bokwaongo, Buea, for 14 years, and later, from 2016 to 2018, the principal of Bilingual Grammar School Molyko, Buea. She was also the principal of GHS Bojongo for one year.
            Mrs. Etonde Mbua was GCE examiner for O level English Literature (1995-2008). She is a Night of the Cameroon Order of Valor.
