GTHS Mbengwi Burnt
The administrative block of the Government Technical High School Mbengwi has been burnt down. Reports on ground said some armed men stormed the school premises on Saturday and set the building on fire. It was not immediately known who the perpetrators of the arson were or to which group they belonged. But they are suspected to be either pro-Ambazonia Independence fighters or elements of the government’s security forces, who have for some time now been accused of orchestrating the burning down of villages and properties in the NW and SW. In a related development, a truck belonging to the garbage gathering and disposal company, Hysacam was also burnt in Bamenda, NW region at the weekend. The perpetrators also went scot-free.

New Mayor for Yaounde II Council
The Yaounde II council has finally voted a new mayor to replace the one who died recently. YannickAyissi, 36, emerged as the better candidate of the two candidates that contested the run-off election for the office of mayor. His election on Friday thus puts an end to the vacancy that was created by the untimely passing of the former mayor, Luc Assamba.
