Meritorious
personnel of the Kumba District Hospital have been congratulated and rewarded
with certificates of merit. The Director of the hospital, Dr. Ebongo Zachs
Nanje awarded the certificates to the privileged medics and para-medics of the
institution at a solemn ceremony at the hospital. The ceremony was witnessed by
the 2nd Assistant SDO for Meme, Yongkuma Nelson Gamsi and attended by all the
staff of the hospital.
The prizes were awarded according to the
various departments of the Hospital. The prize for the best worker in the
Technical department went to Ntuba Oscar; Bakini Ruth won the prize for hygiene
and sanitation; that for the best Pharmacy worker went to Ngalla Sally; Best
Paramedical staff was Ngwet Ngwet; best in mother/child care Anne Marie; Tabot
Lucy for the medical dept; Fokum Eunice hard the best in surgery; Nfong Rose as
best ward servant and Itie Joyce as best administrative staff.
This 5th edition of the prize award saw
Dr. Pie Mbeng, assistant director of the Hospital emerging as the overall best.
The selection team landed their choice on Dr. Pie Mbeng in recognition of his
unquestionable commitment to work, his moral rectitude and duty consciousness
and for having the correct attitude to his duties.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ebongo Zacks
said the exercise is aimed to encourage hard work and discourage laziness among
workers of the hospital. He said laureates are selected according to laid down
criteria including duty consciousness, punctuality and assiduity amongst
others.
This year’s edition began with a health
walk around the City of Kumba to showcase the fitness of the medical staff and
encourage Kumba denizens to engage in sports as a means of keeping their health
in good shape.
Yongkuma thanked the hospital management for
the facelift they have given the Hospital and urged the staff continue to be
duty conscious.
The ceremony ended with a grand gala at the
Kumba city Banquet hall.
