Jean Bruno Tagne appointed AGM
Senior journalist at “Le Jour” newspaper
and member of the National Communication Council NCC, Jean Bruno Tagne JBT has
been appointed the Deputy General Manager in charge of information at Canal 2
television.
He
was appointed on Wednesday 24 February 2016 by the General manager and CEO of Canal
2, Joseph Fotso.
A
graduate of the Advanced School of Mass Communication ASMAC, Yaounde, Jean
Bruno has spent the better part of his brilliant career in the print media,
where he worked as reporter and editor for various French Language Newspapers notably
Mutations and Je Jour. Before his appointment JBT was senior editor
(editorialist) at Le Jour.
Having
served for barely three months as consultant at Canal 2, JBT admits he know his
new working environment only fairly well. But he has pledged to do his work
with the same passion like he did at Le Jour in order to surmount any obstacles
and challenges that may be incumbent in the exalting tasks that would be he’s.
“I
have put in 3 months as consultant at Canal 2, so I can say I know the house
fairly well. But I hope to work with the same passion like I did at Le jour so
as to be up to the tasks assigned me,” JBT told The Median.
It
should be mentioned that JBT’s appointment is somewhat of a bitter-sweet pill
in the mouths of his former colleagues and especially his boss at Le Jour,
Haman Mana. It is bitter because JBT was the pivot around which the crack team
of editors and reporters of Le Jour revolved. On the other hand it is sweet
because he is moving to a bigger, more lucrative and most interestingly more
challenging job, which is some kind of acknowledgement of the quality of his
work and also the quality of the newspaper itself.
That
is why the publisher of Le Jour, Haman Mana, did not hide his joy for his young
and brilliant collaborator, JBT.
“Bravo
monjeune confrere. Je tesouhaite bon vent (congrats my young colleague; I wish
you well),” said Haman Mana to JBT, as he presided the news conference of
Thursday 25 February during which JBT also officially bade farewell to his
former colleagues.
It
should be noted that apart from journalism, JBT is also author of two books on
the indomitable lions’ decline.
