The Indomitable Lions will play France in a
friendly on May 30 at La Beaujoire Stadium in Nantes. The revelation was made
recently by the Chairman of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT),
TombiRokoSidiki.
The
two teams last met in the early 2000s, with the Indomitable Lions and Les Bleu
drawing 1-1 on October 4, 2000 at the Stade de France.
Cameroon
lost 0-1 to France on extra time in a Confederations Cup final on June 21,
2003.
Meanwhile,
Sidiki has refused to comment on the appointment of a new national coach to
replace German Volker Finke who was sacked on October 30. However, speculations
are rife that the new Coach will be made known on Monday February 15.
FECAFOOT
has made it clear that it is looking for an experienced foreign head coach.
Local
duo AlexandreBelinga and Bonaventure Djonkep took charge of the team, pending
the appointment of a new manager for the Indomitable Lions.
As
interim coach, Belinga helped Cameroon reach the next round of 2018 World Cup
qualifying, beating Niger 3-0 away and drawing 0-0 at home
