UK-based Cameroonian doctor proposes “The
Conclave” as way forward

Top London-based Cameroon Medic, Dr. Fred
Perry Kemah, has described the on going impasse in Cameroon as the STRUGGLE for
freedom and social justice in the English Speaking Cameroon territories. He
introduced the name STRUGGLE on the basis that unarmed and peaceful citizens,
were simply asking for their voices to be heard.
However,
he opines that the failure of the government to listen to the demands of
Lawyers and Teachers, aggravated by military vandalism on innocent students led
to a change in the dynamics of the STRUGGLE.
In
typical medical terms, Dr. Fred Kemah qualifies the on going struggle as a
local problem with systemic complications. According to him, it is evident to
everyone that Cameroonians of Anglo-Saxon descent have put forth their demands
and are now asking for RESTORATION, SECESSION, FEDERALISM etc. This pushes the
consultant cardiologist to wonder; “what exactly are we asking for?
Dr.
Kemah observes that: “there is on going confusion. The confusion is not only
amongst the various factions involved in the STRUGGLE but even within the
government ranks on how to go about this STRUGGLE. There seems to be no road map to a way
forward.”
In light of the above, he is introducing
“The CONCLAVE. He notes that the government is familiar with this appellation.
“The
CONCLAVE is an assembly of political and
group leaders. They come together over a three day period to discuss various
tactics and strategies on how to go about the STRUGGLE. At the CONCLAVE, a
supreme leader will be elected to act as the speaker and eventual head of the
federal government or state. Depending on what we achieve.”
So,
in essence, we have to identify where this conclave will take place. In
addition, we have to let the Cameroon government be aware of this CONCLAVE as a
way forward to solving this problem.
Dr. Kemah recalls that “it is through the
methodology of ‘The Conclave’ that other African countries such as Ghana,
Sierra Leone, Liberia, Rwanda, Congo of recent have solved their internal
problems.”
