2017 Budget:

K’ba II adopts FCFA 550m, launches new Council Magazine

The award winning Kumba II sub-divisional council has voted the sum of 550 million FRS as the council budget for the 2017 financial year. The budget which is balanced in revenue and expenditure was voted and adopted this December 23 at the Kumba II council hall during a budgetary session. The realistic 2017 budget witnessed a 35% drop; over three hundred million (300 436 630) compared to the 2016 budget.

                According to the lord Mayor for Kumba II council, ForchaNdobengang Martin, the drop is because the long awaited loan for the construction of the Kosala market has finally been approved. This chunk of money has therefore been deducted from the budget. He equally revealed the drop is in line with the ministerial circular No 0904948/LL/MINATD/DCTD of the 20th of October relating to the preparation and execution of council budget for 2017 financial year.
                As a road map for 2017, Mayor Forcha Martin revealed the council will give grants to schools, social centers, sporting associations that will amount to 7 million FRS. The council will equally embark on construction of roads, culverts, purchase of equilement and furniture for transportation, garbage, office, wate and electronic equipment to the tune of 79 million. All these alongside other sundry development projects the Mayor revealed will be in line to contine making the Kumba II municipality the best in Kumba.
                Through the efforts of Mayor Forcha Martin, the Kumba II council won the Prize worth 2 million from FEICOM on the Council Best Practices in the entire Southwest region. The Kumba II council has also launched the first edition of the Kumba II council magazine which centered on the excellence and prosperity of the council from 2013-2016.
                On her part, the senior divisional officer for Meme, EpolewaneVerklinMbua congratulated the mayor and all the stake holders of the Kumba II council and municipality for their good jib that has now made the council award winning. She however adviced that the Mayor ensures that the 40% of the budget allocated for investment be respected and implemented. She also warned in strong terms the issue of embezzlement among revenue collectors in the council and urged the mayor to ensure that defaulters are brought to book.
Future Projects of Kumba II Council for 2017
                Thanks to the relentless efforts, devotedness and headwork of Mayor Forcha Martin, the World Bank shall tarr 5.5km of road within the Kumba II municipality in 2017 amounting to 3.6 billion FRS. Also, the World Bank shall construct culverts, bridges, a community hall as well as carryout the detention of lights and water in the municipality to the tune of one billion FRS. Mayor Forcha also revealed visilibity studies are ongoing for the above projects to commence. The mayor equally revealed the council's contacts with the Common Wealth Local Government Forum are yielding more fruits as they have allocated to the Kumba II council the sum of 10 000 $ as aid for the waste management projects.
