K’ba III Council adopts 400M as 2017 budget

The Kumba III Council has adopted the s of 400 million FRS CFA as the budget for the 2017 financial year. This was in a budgetary session that was held at the council hall this December 21, to examine, deliberate and adopt the budget balance in both revenue and expenditure.
                Speaking at the conclave, the Lord Mayor for Kumba III council, John Kona Mania revealed the 20% drop in the budget amounting to the tune if 100 million from that of 2016 is in line with the ministerial circular letter No 090498/LL/MINATD/DCTD of 20th October 2016 relating to the preparation and e execution council budgets.
                Mayor John Kona Makia revealed his road map for the council in 2017 will be in all spheres of development such as providing bore holes to the population to soft the problem of drinking water, construction and maintenance of roads, classrooms, organization of training seminars to educate the population, construction of bridges, culverts as well as a sloter house. He equally promised that in relation to the partnership agreement between the council and the city council, the NTAM motor park will go operational in early 2017 at the permanent site. The mayor also revealed roads will be top on his scale of preference for the municipality as well as strengthening their partnership with CDC and the International LabourOrganisation in areas of development.

                Meanwhile, speaking at the budgetary session, EpolewaneVerklinMbua, Meme SDO called on the Mayor to respect the 40% of the budget allocated for invested and make sure it is implemented. She equally decried the unorthodox hygienic methods of some households in the municipality in passing out waste and urged the mayor to bring that to an immediate end. She also condemned in strong terms the embezzlement of council fund by council revenue collectors as well as called in the mayor bring defaulters to book as well as redeploy such workers to other duty positions in a bid to reduce the main challenge of the council.
