2017 Budget:

Kumba I Council adopts FCFA 689m

The Kumba I Sub- Divisional council has held its budgetary session this December 19, 2016 to deliberate on the budget for the 2017 financial year for the council. The 2017 budget for the council which stands at the sum of 689 600 000 FRS balanced in revenue and expenditure witness a 54 million increase as against the 635 600 000 million FRS for 2016.
                The 54 million FRS increase in the budget according to the Lord Mayor for KumbaI,Ebako Abel Ndoh is an ambitious and reliable increase that will meet the needs and aspirations of the population of the Kumba I council. Mayor Ebako Abel revealed his 2017 road map for the council will include construction of two bridges, gutters to ease drainage, culverts, purchase of trucks, assistance to the vulnerable population as well as training of youths in the municipality.
                The session was under the watchful eyes of the senior divisional officer for Meme, EpolewaneVerklinMbua in which she hailed the good development ideas of the Lord Mayor but however urged him to focus on the rehabilitation and construction of roads in his municipality as a major priority. She equally instructed that the 40% of the budget allocated for investment by law be respected and implemented as well as called on the mayor to track down embezzlers of council funds and bring them to book. According to her if such practices are not the discouraged then the council will keep facing the problem of revenue collection.

                Mayor Ebako Abel Ndoh was equally urged to ensure that the Make II market is constructed alongside stores that can be rented in order for this to help boost the revenue of the council by the SDO.
